If you are considering filing bankruptcy, you probably know that due
to recently passed legislation (The Bankruptcy Abuse Prevention and Consumer
Protection Act of 2005), there are financial education requirements that
must be met. Our workshops are designed to help you sort through your
different options and to learn some key financial strategies to become
re-established after the bankruptcy. You will leave these workshops with
this information:
- How to determine which alternative best suits your particular situation;
- What
steps you can take to re-establish your credit;
- How to create and live
with a budget; and
- How best to avoid this type of financial crisis
in the future.
Although some people find themselves in financial difficulty due to life
changes such as divorce, medical emergencies and reduced income, over
50%* consistently have financial problems due to poor money management
and overuse of credit.
Improving your finance knowledge and money management skills is key to
living within your means and preventing future problems with money. Our
mission is to help people increase their financial knowledge, money management
skills, and prosper in all stages of their financial life.
