Financial literacy is the acquiring of knowledge or competency in personal finance that allows consumers to make informed judgments and decisions about the use and management of their money and credit. ByDesign™ recognizes that financial literacy education is the key to more secure and financially stable families and communities. It all starts with the individual. That is why promoting consumer financial education is our mission and we have been offering such education for more than four decades.

Over the years, our services have grown from individual one-on-one counseling and education, to a full range of programs including:

• Budget and credit counseling and education programs;
• Housing counseling and education programs encompassing all aspects of housing needs, including rental selection, pre-purchase education for first-time homebuyers, post-purchase and default assistance and reverse mortgage counseling and certification;
• Recovery program to assist individuals having difficulty opening bank relationships;
• Identity Theft counseling, education and resolution services; and
• Financial Firsts for young adults (first financial commitments).

ByDesign™ seeks to empower individuals, with a special focus on low- and moderate-income families, immigrant populations and those facing challenges, to helping them to develop financial literacy skills that will place them in good standing throughout their life – Money Management for a Lifetime.^SM
