Credit Report Review

ByDesign™’s Credit Report Review is one of the most valuable services we offer. Your credit history and credit score is your way to inform others about how well you pay your debts. Reviewing your credit report regularly will also allow you to determine if you have become a victim of identity theft, and if you have, to take the necessary steps to resolve the situation quickly. If your credit scores are high, almost every lender will offer you the best rates and terms available. If your scores are low, this may indicate that you are a higher credit risk. While you may still be able to obtain new credit, this may carry a higher rate. A low score may make it difficult for you to rent or buy a home, may increase your insurance rates, and determine the size of the deposit you will be required to make to get utilities turned on. A low score may even make it difficult for you to get that job you have been wanting.

Our review of your credit history will give you access to all three of the major credit reporting agencies and your corresponding credit scores. One of our trained and certified counselors will examine your reports with you and suggest what you can do to increase your scores, correct errors in your report and help protect your good name and identity.

Here are just of few of the topics a typical Credit Report Review counseling session covers:

  • Accessing your reports;
  • Reading a report and what it says about you;
  • Understanding the reasons you need to see your report;
  • Handling negative information;
  • Correcting and avoiding problems;
  • Closing accounts and the effect of this on your score;
  • Disputes and how to conduct them;
  • Why disputes take so long;
  • The lenders point of view;
  • Credit scoring vs. credit approval;
  • Understanding your scores; and
  • Rebuilding credit.
